Our Ethos.

Happy Dogs. Satisfied Owners. Clear results. PURE CANINE.

Our Ethos.

We believe that every dog and their owner deserve a long, happy life together. We believe in building a relationship around calm, loving and consistent leadership. We believe that every dog is different, and we know that getting the best out of your dog means focusing on their individual needs, rather than a “one size fits all” approach. We believe that training can be simple, fun and rewarding - and that a few small changes can make a big difference.

Assessment and Evaluation for every dog an an individual.

We want to get to know your dog as an individual, and we want to see the relationship you have with them. We don’t want to just stick a plaster over a top level symptom like barking at other dogs or pulling on a lead. We want to be confident about the underlying cause, so we can help you make lasting changes.

Most professionals work on the basis of either distracting your dog or correcting your dog when they present problem behaviours without every looking at ‘why’. So we can address their concerns and motivations directly with reasonable, practical handling and training that makes a big difference.

A great dog and a great family pet. Not a robot or a circus performer.

We believe that most people want a happy, easy going pet that’s a member of the family and a pleasure to be around. We don’t need your dog to jump through hoops or take down criminals - we don’t want them doing heel work to music or hyperactive time trials.

We think that a great dog is simple - a dog that is easy to take out for a walk, relaxed and safe around the home, and friendly with the people in your life that matter. Everything else should be ‘extra’. Fun and enjoyable on both ends of the lead.

Easy and affordable for you and your dog.

We don’t want to charge you a fortune to sit across the table and hand you pages and pages of scientific reports and pre-written training plans that aren’t relevant to your dog as an individual, or that you are never going to read.

Nor do we want to sign you up to a six week training plan where you are spending more than you need, to practice the same activities again and again. We work one session at a time, with one goal at a time - so every session is as beneficial as possible.

Our job is to teach you practically, using simple techniques in a way that is easy for you and your dog to understand. Techniques that you can continue to put in place when we leave - no instruction manual required.

100% recommend if you want excellent 1-1 training. Our 6 month springer is a very nervous dog and struggles without us, Ste was brilliant in showing us how to calm her, she is already a different dog and so much more confident and settled. Nothing is to much and gave us so much advice and reassurance. Highly recommend!

★★★★★

You’ll get on great with us if:

  • You think a dog benefits from a calm approach, without excessive treats and stimulation.

  • You want to find a balance between gentle, fair handling - whilst having a polite dog that is safe to handle and under control.

  • You want to build a genuine, meaningful relationship without bribery or forced compliance.

  • You believe that honouring and respecting your dogs natural behaviour, language and instincts is as important as helping them to understand human beings.

  • You want a behaviour based approach (that means all the science, not just the cherry picked parts) with proven, reliable techniques and principles that are easy for anyone to understand.

  • You want a dog to be a part of the family - not an athlete, circus performer or protection dog.
